SEVEN SIMPLE STEPS WHICH EVERY STUDENT MUST FOLLOW BEFORE CHOOSING CAREER
In a person’s life, one of the most important turning points is when he
or she has to pursue his or her career in a specific field. At that time, he or
she want advises and discusses with the people about his career around him so
that he can successfully pursue his or her career without any failure. It’s a
fortune for some people who get the right guidance from their elders who have
already gone through this stage, but those people who have no one to guide in a
professional way get confused. At that time, they needed some once hand who can
guide and tell them professional ups and downs of different fields. Many people
recommend that just go with your dream career and other recommend that pursue
in the field where it has a scope. So what to do and how to select the right
field for yourself. Either goes with the flow of society or either goes with
your dream career without caring about its scope. Here are some simple steps
which every student should follow before actually dive into any field. It is
necessary because many people regret after completing the degree that this is
not what I really like. So it is better to concern about your career before
actually dive into that field.
1: Ask yourself that what you really like?
First of all, ask yourself that what I seriously like, either I
want to become a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer or anything else, just finds
out, and it is necessary because if you don’t like something and you pursue in
that career than obviously you will not work with your heart and chances of
failure increases and at the end you will feel depressed. So ask yourself,
what I really like. But remember, the field you like from its outer glance may
you dislike when you dive into it. This is not the only criteria, but you have
to ask some more questions from yourself.
2: Where do you see yourself in the future?
The most important point is that, where do you see yourself in the
future? Either the field you like will help you to reach towards your goal or
not, find it out. You must have to define your clear goals so that you can
choose the field which will help you to reach your goal. Remember that your
goal should be realistic and achievable.
3: Is there any scope in the field you liked?
It is obvious that if someone is going for higher studies, so he has a
plan to get a good job or start a business and earn some substantial amount of
money, so he can live a happy life. So it is necessary to find out, whether the
field you like having any scope or not; or if you can start your own business
or not.
4: Take advice from a professional:
Another most important point that asks the people who are currently in
that field, ask them about professional ups and downs of that field and
hardships you have to face in professional life, because it happens that you
choose the field you like and after completing the degree you find that you
cannot bear the hardship of that field. So it is better to ask earlier rather
than regretting.
5: Visit the site or office where you will be after completing the degree:
If it is possible to visit the office or site of work where you will
have to go after completing the degree you like; than must visit it. So you can
experience the real professional environment of your field. Discuss with
professionals about the scope and take advises from them. It will be very
helpful for you in deciding whether to select that field or not.
6: Do you really like the field that you like before all above steps?
After all above steps, again ask yourself that, do you really like the
field or not? Because before all above steps, you like the field from its outer
glance, but after these steps, you know that field in detail, and if still you
like that field than don’t think further, just pursue your career in that field
without wasting your time and hope for the best for your future.
7: Don’t listen to people who have no interest
in your life:
The most important point is that, don’t listen to people who have no
interest in your life. People who are not professional cannot give you the
right advice. You should take advice from people who really care for you and
who have knowledge of that field. If you take advice from people who have no knowledge
and concern for your life than definitely it can lead towards major failure in
life.
At the end, I would like to advise the student that you have enough
potential that you can do anything, just believe in yourself. Some student
destroys their future because of some major mistake in choosing their career,
but I can assure you that if you follow the above steps than Inshallah, you
will not be regretful after completing your degree.
Good guidance. It will definitely help students in selecting right career.
ReplyDeleteThese are very true! I feel like choosing a career is such a difficult task for students, especially those that have to choose right outside of Highschool. The brain is still growing which means our interests, priorities and goals are altering as well. Taking advice from others but weighing in other things is so key in such a huge decision!
ReplyDeleteYa you said well! And choosing wrong career just because of lack of proper guidance can lead students toward serious regret which never overcomes

DeleteI agree with everything here. I would add don't automatically go into a field your parents wanted you to go in. Also, don't listen to your high school brain completely. Be sure to keep an open mind and absorb everything you can in college... that's when you can finally put together what you want to do!
